Auto Repair in Gillette, WY
The city of Gillette is located in northeastern Wyoming along Interstate 90. Serving as the seat of Campbell County, Gillette covers a land area of 19 square miles. The city has seen significant population growth in the 21st century, now home to more than 32,000 people.
Gillette was founded in 1891 with the development of railroad transportation. It was incorporated as a city the following year, less than two years after Wyoming became a state. Situated in the Powder River Basin between the Bighorn Mountains and the Black Hills, the community was named for Edward Gillette, a railroad company surveyor. Today, Gillette calls itself the “Energy Capital of the Nation,” based on its proximity to vast coal, oil and methane gas production. Popular nearby attractions include Devils Tower National Monument and Keyhole State Park, both a short drive from the city.
